Late 60’s/Early 70’s Ludwig 'Standard No. S-102' 14x5"

Serial number: 62498

The Ludwig Standard range lasted between 1968-1973. The range was launched to compete with budget level Japanese ranges of the time. The Standard snare has an iconic aluminum shell , ala the Acrolite, and were finished in chrome or 'Acrolite Finish' as listed in the catologs. There is no centre bead, like the Acrolite and 400; some would say this gives it more of a focused sound.

You can watch a great video from Reverb comparing the Standard to an Acrolite and Supraphonic here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AGr1_7Cq_hk

This snare comes with original strainer, butt end, internal damper, tension rods and hoops.

Freshly stripped, cleaned, checked and polished, and fitted with brand new Remo heads and Puresound wires.

Catalog scan is from 1968-69.
