Mar 2 1961 Ludwig 'Jazz Festival' 14x5" in Green & Gold Duco

Date stamped Mar 2 1961.

Pre-Serial Keystone badge.

3-ply mahogany/poplar/maple shell. Mahogany inner ply with original white interior coating. Maple reinforcement rings.

All original nickel over brass hardware including WFL strainer and hoops.

This drum is in beautiful condition and features a very rare seldom seen original green and gold duco with minimal aging.

The drum came to me very dirty with cloudy nickel hardware, but I’m glad to say it has cleaned up remarkably and looks the part now.

As you’d expect it sounds beautiful. A wonderful crisp and warm drum which would be very versatile and deserves to be played as much as admired.

Stripped, cleaned and polished in my workshop a couple of years ago. The drum has just come back in from the original buyer. I rephotographed the drum in September 2021 to try illustrate the vividness of the duco finish.

Fitted with slightly used Remo Fiberskyn Ambassador and brand new Ambassador snare side heads and Puresound Custom Pro wires.
