The drum came to me with a strainer and butt end that weren’t in working order. I have replaced the strainer with another Yamaha one and enlarged some holes to accommodate this. The butt end is modern Ludwig using the original holes.
I'm not convinced the internal dampener pads are original, but they do work.
I’ll be honest, I haven’t seen many of these around and certainly none in person. There isn't much information on these snares out there, but what I can tell, they're some of the first drums Yamaha put out. These drums are a step up from all the Made in Japan 'stencil' kits from that time.
Overall, the drum is in nice condition for its age.

Fitted with Remo Vintage Ambassador and Ambassador Hazy snare heads with brand new Puresound Custom Pro snare wires.
