1963-1970 Slingerland 'Artist Model' 14x5.5" in Black Diamond Pearl
Solid 1-ply maple shell with maple reinforcing hoops.
Niles, Illinois badge dating it to 1963-1970. Serial number: 21430.
All original chrome hardware including chrome over brass ‘rim shot’/’stick saver’ hoops, internal tone control and Zoomatic snare strainer which works perfectly as it should.
The original Black Diamond Pearl wrap and chrome hardware is all in really great condition, with only very minor pitting, scuffs and aging.
A lot of people go for the earlier Slingerland Radio King snares when hunting out a vintage solid maple snare and this model is what came after and a lot of people including dealers, don’t realise their full potential.
There is some very minor separation of the reinforcing hoop and the shell. This is extremely common and in my experience, there is nothing to worry about here.
Freshly stripped, cleaned and polished in my workshop September 2026. See the last two photos to see the transformation.
Fitted with brand new Remo Coated Ambassador and Ambassador snare side heads with brand new Puresound Concert snare wires.
